Cookie Policy

This policy explains how Saunassa uses cookies and similar technologies on our website (saunassa.co.uk), our booking platform (app.saunassa.co.uk) and the Saunassa mobile app, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we look after your personal information more generally.

What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device so that it can recognise you when you come back or move between pages. “Similar technologies” means things that do the same job in a different way: local storage in your browser, pixels (tiny images that report when a page was viewed), software development kits in a mobile app, and device identifiers. We call all of these “cookies” below.
Cookies are either set by us (first-party) or by a company whose service we have built into our pages (third-party). They either disappear when you close your browser (session cookies) or stay until they expire or you delete them (persistent cookies).
How we use them
We group cookies by what they do.
Strictly necessary. These make the website and platform work: keeping you signed in, remembering what is in your basket, protecting the site from abuse, and remembering that you have answered the cookie banner. They do not need your consent, and the platform cannot work without them.
Functional. These remember choices you have made, such as the studio you last looked at or how you like a list displayed. They are stored in your browser’s local storage rather than as cookies, they never leave your device, and nothing in them identifies you to anyone else.
Analytics and performance. We currently use no analytics cookies on the website. On the booking platform we use an error-monitoring tool (Sentry) that records when something goes wrong so we can fix it; it does not set cookies or track you between sites.
Marketing. On the website we use the Meta Pixel so that we can see whether people who saw our Facebook or Instagram advertising went on to visit the site, and show Saunassa advertising to people who have visited before. Marketing cookies are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner. Saying no does not affect anything else on the site.

Payments that go through Stripe's own checkout page are covered by Stripe's cookie policy while you are on that page.
In the Saunassa mobile app
Apps do not use cookies but do use similar identifiers. The app stores your sign-in token on the device; if you allow notifications it registers a device token with OneSignal; and it checks with Expo, our app delivery service, for updates to the app when you open it, which sends your device type and app version.
You control notifications and any location permission in your phone's settings.
Your choices
The cookie banner. When you first visit saunassa.co.uk you can accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. If you reject, marketing cookies are not set and the Meta Pixel does not load.
Your browser. Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies, and lets you block third-party cookies altogether. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you signing in to the booking platform.
Instructions are available from the common browsers including Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.
Meta. You can also control how Meta uses data from sites like ours in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings, and opt out of Meta's tracking on third-party sites there.
Notifications. Turn push notifications off in your browser or your phone's settings and we stop sending them; the token is removed.
Changes
We will update this list when we add or remove a tool. The date at the top tells you when it last changed, and a material change will be flagged in the cookie banner.
